The Kolkata Study Circle Foundation (KSCF) is a non-profit organization which is open to all social researchers either qualified in, or else working in, India. It is an organization which also offers scholarship, founded on February 27th, 2020 seminar held in Kolkata, West Bengal. Of the 5 members, 4 are residing in Kolkata and 1 is residing in Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The objectives of the organization are very simple i.e., to promote social research which would aid the poorest of the poor.
The organization also organizes annual conferences for the members of the KSCF in Kolkata, West Bengal. In due course, journals will be also initiated to further social research. Furthermore, KSCF encourages and supports thematic studies on diverse topics.
KSCF is registered under the Section 8 of Companies Act, 2013. It is essentially a non-profit company under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. So, it is bound by the constitution, legislations, and other laws of Government of India. The members of Board of Directors are elected as per the laws presented in such legislations. This is done to ensure the continuity of KSCF’s administrative and research functions. The composition of the Board of Directors of KSCF shows the all-inclusiveness approach put forward by this organization.
